Leanne Halls

a realist painter represented by Colville Gallery.

About

Leanne Halls brings plein air painting to the forefront of our senses from the shores, skyline and landscapes of Hobart and surrounds. Her artwork is characterized by expressive brushstrokes, emotive colour schemes and lyrical compositions. Her still life studies too, capture a tranquillity and sense of place. Halls studied at Julian Ashton Art School, Sydney. In addition she spent a number of years in Japan; where she studied suiboku and hakuboku with a Master, that has assisted in forming her new expressive path. Halls has been gaining recognition over the last few years and inclusion in numerous awards including The Glover, Lloyd Rees Art Prize and Eutick Memorial Still Life Award.
