Betty Nolan is an expressive painter who responds to her world by making large, painterly works that use mainly transparent colours. She is interested in contemporary materials, particularly metallic inks and interference colours that change with the light and the viewer’s aspect. Her experimental approach is inspired by painters such as Max Ernst and Joan Miro.
