Explores political and social issues, absurdity and the general masquerade of visual culture


Jamin, born in Sydney in 1976, lives and works in Hobart, Tasmania. Jamin’s artistic practice extends from gallery based paintings and installations through to murals, street art and commissioned interiors. Through his work, Jamin explores process based painting, political and social issues, absurdity, and the general masquerade of visual culture.

Career highlights include a series of commissions for MONA (Museum of New and Old Art) including the two MONA Ferries (MONA ROMA 1 & MONA ROMA 0), 2013-2014; selection for Contemporary Australia: Optimism at the Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane, 2008; the Devonport Regional Art Gallery Solo Commission, 2007; the Rosamond McCulloch Studio Residency, Paris, 2011; and the recent acquisition of work by the Australian War Memorial, Canberra. Jamin is currently undertaking a PhD at the Tasmanian College of the Arts.
