Kirsty Riddle

About

Kirsty finds most of her inspiration in the infinite colours and forms in the natural world. Increasingly she draws, paints or print objects or scenes that reach her emotionally. Kirsty likes to share her life experiences, both joyful and painful in the hope that others can relate to her experience. She likes to experiment with using a range of mediums including oil paints, pastels, inks, charcoal and coloured pencils.

Kirsty’s process varies: painting or drawing from photographs she has taken; drawing still life directly from observation in her studio; using sketches she has started on location. Kirsty enjoys exploring the use of colour, texture and composition to create different moods and effects.

Having moved from Melbourne to live in Hobart two years ago Kirsty has been exploring other mediums including gouache, acrylic paint, printmaking processes and ceramics. “I am constantly learning more about creating art and more about myself in the process.”
