About

“Time spent at our family property in the Midlands has informed this work. Being on the land, one bears witness to the seasonal shifts, weather conditions and the changing tonal qualities that all provide material to draw upon. Using the medium of etching and aquatinting allows for shifting tones to be created with the printmaking process, depicting a sense of the calm. Working from my studio in this landscape surrounded by livestock and paddocks, with hills nearby and mountains in the distance, allows for a calming and contemplative space that inspires. The repetition of form is not only in the work but also in this landscape; returning back to the same locations and forms develops a deep understanding of place.” Olivia Moroney,  2017
