Tasmanian ceramic artists

“As a potter I like to design, make and live with pots that have both simplicity and a story behind their creation. I find working with clay on the pottery wheel flexible and spontaneous. The Raku firing process captivates and allows me to embrace a strong sculptural presence in my vessels. I also like to work with porcelain, as it tends to have a unique way of behaving and its own sense of movement. The translucency of the clay and simplicity of the vessels engages me not only in the form and function of the vessel, but the handmade qualities.” Sallee Warner, 2015.
