The Book Cellar is located in the underground cellars of one of Tasmania’s most remarkable heritage buildings, the circa 1833 coaching inn, The Fox Hunters Return. Said to have been used as holding cells for convicts building Campbell Town’s famous Red Bridge, the cellars now house thousands of quality old and new books with a particular focus on heritage and nostalgia titles. Stocking both new and used titles, The Book Cellar features the largest collection of Tasmanian titles for sale to be found anywhere alongside social history, heritage, collectibles, nostalgia and both children’s and adult fiction
Their catalogue of Tasmanian titles which is sold under the “Just Tassie Books” banner, runs from the earliest historical accounts of life in Van Diemen’s Land published in the colony through to the latest fiction and non-fiction on or about Tasmania or published by Tasmanian authors. Just Tassie Books has its own website www.justtassiebooks.com and its own Facebook page www.facebook.com/justtassiebooks.
A browse through The Book Cellar will delight book lovers, collectors, and casual readers alike and will trigger memories of childhood or times past, as well as uncovering contemporary publications and new releases
