About

The Rosny Barn is a multi-purpose, small capacity arts venue situated in the cultural hub of Hobart’s Eastern Shore.

Contained within the walls of a c1818 stone barn, it has been tastefully refurbished to retain its colonial aspect whilst catering to a broad range of arts based activities. Situated within the picturesque grounds of the Rosny Farm which also contains the Schoolhouse Gallery and Rosny Cottage, it has been described as, “The best acoustic venue in the Southern Hemisphere.” – Stefan Grossman.

It programs a lively calendar of local and touring contemporary art exhibitions as well as a range of performing arts activities.

The program also incorporates a constantly changing arts based school holiday program and educational program based around the colourful history of the Rosny Farm site.

ARTBIKES - the bike-borrowing service for art lovers

Rosny Barn at Rosny Farm is also the southern home of ARTBIKES, a free bike borrowing service that enables art lovers to explore the cultural assets on the eastern shore. Grab a bike, a helmet and a map and set off to explore. Visit the Clarence City Council website for more information.
