‘Pageant of the Harlequin Trees’ by John Ancher

abstract technicoloured Tasmanian Landscape paintings

About

The Henry Jones is excited to present a huge exhibition by local artist John Ancher.  This exhibition of thirty vibrant paintings, invites us to experience the Tasmanian forests through technicolour.  A joyful expression of abstracted landscapes, enhanced with poetry.

John has held several exhibitions of paintings and drawings in Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart, whilst also operating as the Art Curator of the Hutchins Art Prize for thirteen years.  Since the conclusion of this role in 2015, John is finally able to think of himself as a painter who writes.

Please join us on opening night for drinks with the artists,

Thursday 24th October, 5:30pm – 6:30pm

The Packing Room, IXL Atrium, 25 Hunter Street, Hobart.

The exhibition will be open daily from 10:00am – 5:00pm, 26th October 2019 until mid January 2020
