Abstracting Time III

A group of diverse printmakers exploring the theme of nature

About

A group of diverse printmakers skilled in the fields of digital and analogue printmaking, use varying mediums to investigate the theme of nature in its many forms.

Abstracting Time investigates the broad overriding theme of nature through movement, collection and re-collection, identity and experience, and power through myth.

More specifically, the artists explore nature as geological time and our experience in the landscape, as well as the interrelationship between land and the body. There is also themes of time in motion through movement; of time cycles in lunar and tide rhythms; and of times past and life forms that are now extinct as well as their adaptation.

Collectively, the group uses a wide range of techniques and processes in their art practices. Processes used to create some of the works include repetition and layering; collaboration with nature; drawing and stitching. Printmaking techniques include linocut, woodcut, embossing, lithography and gravure, dry point, screen-printing and digital printmaking.
