Burnie Print Prize 2015

The acquisitive Burnie Print Prize 2015 has increased from $12 000 to $15 000. This will make it the equal-first richest prize for printmaking in Australia along with the Fremantle Print Prize.

The judges for the Burnie Print Prize 2015 will be Jason Smith, Curatorial Manager, Australian Art at Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art, Helen Wright, artist and Raymond Arnold, artist.

The Burnie Print Prize is open to artists living and working in Australia. The Prize is jointly sponsored by the Burnie City Council and the Friends of the Burnie Regional Art Gallery.

The Gallery’s permanent collection focuses on works on paper and has an ever growing collection of over 1 000 works. 693 of these are prints by 223 Australian artists including Lloyd Rees, Sidney Nolan, Brett Whiteley, James Gleeson, Arthur Boyd and Ben Quilty to name just a few of the more famous.
