This is a group exhibition especially made by four unusual Tasmanian artists for the darkest time of the year. Elizabeth Barsham (Tasmanian Gothic) challenges the viewer with well made oil paintings that explore themes environmental and social in a grotesque fashion. Helene Boyer uses flameworked glass to sculpt forms simultaneously beautiful and repellent. Soft sculptor and painter Grace Garton creates animals with personality (to say the least) and tells an unpleasant painted story. Sculptor Julia Knight reinvents body adornment by combining materials ancient and new.
