Vaughn Morphett‘s paintings, based on Norse wood and stone carvings, will adorn the walls on both canvas and shield, as well as paintings and prints inspired from heroic tales from the Poetic Edda and other Norse myths.
Three-dimensional items include jewellery crafted in sterling silver, copper and brass with inclusion of precious stones such as garnet and Baltic amber, and leather pouches.
Everyday Viking-age items such as eating knives (saex), wooden spoons and bowls with animal furs to dress the surfaces (fox, deer, sheep and cow skins) will also be included in the exhibition.
