This body of work was inspired by a visit to Melaleuca in the South-West of Tasmania in July 2015, and experiences in the forests in the past.
Prue Quarmby uses native foliage from domestic gardens, wood, metal and fibreas the basis for the collection, which celebrates the colour, pattern and emotion one experiences in Tasmania’s rainforests. It combines Prue’s love of medieval, art deco and contemporary art as hand bound books, felting, works on paper, and copper and silver jewellery.
