Dan, a former painter now sculptor, and Sara, a former sculptor now painter, cross over into each others practice constantly. Their home is a working studio, a gallery and a place to learn from each other and critique each other. They hate each others’ favourite artists and art movements, and while Dan works with conviction, purity of intent and focus, Sara assimilates her practice into her everyday life where making art is just as important and integral as making bread or gardening. Despite their differences in mode and taste, their styles are complementary and the work they make together is fluid and full of joy and spontaneity.
Over the early years of their partnership in life and art, they have shared sculptures, canvases and tools. They have had a recent run of painting-together-as-date nights and have a strong body of work to present of both new solo works and collaborative work in both two and three dimensions.
