Visual artists
Christine Moore is a self-taught artist who has been painting and drawing for over thirty years. She has worked mostly with pastels, acrylics and mixed media over the last decade. Christine’s work tends to focus on landscapes but often with fantastic, other-worldly dimensions.
Born in Switzerland, Christine moved to Australia in 1983. Whilst working in Sydney as a piano teacher, she experimented with watercolours, collage, illustration for children’s books and silk painting. Christine has always been strongly attracted to visual art forms and took up pastels after moving to Tasmania, in 2005. Since then, she has consistently worked with a variety of media, including a recent exploration of encaustic techniques (melted wax) and ‘faux encaustic’ techniques, using acrylics and collage. “Melting Moments” is Christine’s first solo show.
