An unraveling of the mysterious souls
that lay in wait, some for many decades,
to emerge from dried up paint tubes,
rusty nails, tins and tattered fabric.
This eclectic mix of strange and odd fellows have found themselves a secret and imaginary home of the artist Miss Garton.
Beautiful things can be found in the most dreary of places, footpaths and roadsides, empty lot and tipsites.
“I find rusty nails and broken crockery hard to resist and not pocket, I wonder about the many hands that have come into contact with them, their purpose forgotten over time, dropped, crushed under car tyers, thrown away, left in the rain, unwanted, tragic little gems.
Saving these objects from further decay by sculpting them into new incarnations, mysterious little beings that the viewer will be captivated by and invent their own imaginary worlds and stories.”
