About
Modern Age examines the influence of the global Modernism movement on Tasmanian art including the work and story of the female artists who worked out of a studio in Hobart’s Collins Street in the 1930s such as Dorothy Stoner, Maude Poynter and Edith Holmes. The Modern Age gallery also includes works from the Australian studio crafts revival in the 1960s and 1970s.
