Neva Vestiges

A small selection of work from Catherine Stringer's Neva Reliquary exhibition

About

This exhibition features a small selection of work previously displayed in Catherine Stringer’s solo exhibition at Moonah Arts Centre in Hobart. The exhibition explores the history of the Neva, a convict ship carrying mostly women and children that was shipwrecked off King Island in 1835 with the loss of 224 lives. Catherine is a frequent visitor to King Island who is keen to share a small sample of her work from this exhibition on King Island. Catherine will also talk about her practice and what inspired her to tell the tragic story of these women.
