an exhibition of prints and collages by Patricia Martin

The many magnificent bird species that are unique to Tasmania are celebrated in this linocut, woodcut and drypoint prints by Tasmanian print artist Patricia Martin. Birds of the bush, ocean and wetlands; are presented in sensitive, loving detail, against imagery of their natural environment.

Patricia was trained in printmaking in the Art School of the University of Tasmania,
undertaking a Fine Arts degree between 2010-2013.
Her artwork is inspired by nature – especially Tasmanian native flora and fauna.
Images of these she renders in drypoint prints, woodcut and linocut, and solar plate etching. She is a keen bush-walker and likes to spend time alone with nature, quietly observing.
Her reference material is drawn from her own photographs and observations, supplemented by images from other photographers. Where possible she likes to show Tasmania’s native birds in action: building nests and raising chicks, foraging, hunting, flying.Art resume: Patricia E Martin
