For the first time in many years visitors will be able to see a selection of works by one of Tasmania’s most accomplished impressionist painters.
The exhibition includes latest works by Jonathan Bowden; a combination of both small and larger paintings which reflect the local landscape and his Tasmania. The exhibition runs from 21st February to the 28th June, 2018.
Jonathan Bowden was born in Melbourne in 1942 and spent his formative years in England, combining a masters degree in Natural Sciences at Cambridge with the opportunity to attend various art schools and to study the originals of the Impressionists in the great collections of Europe. Forty years on, his work now places him among the foremost contemporary exponents of impressionist technique in Tasmania.
