Review and Farewell

A French photographer's view of King Island

Raphaele is a French photographer who has been living on King Island for much of 2016. Before she departs she would like to present a viewing of her most dazzling King Island images. This evening will also provide Raphaele with a chance to farewell the people who have enchanted her almost as much as the island landscape.
(Please note – the images will be presented on screen)

I was born in Bordeaux in1984, I lived most of my life in France but also spent 5 years in New-Caledonia when I was a child. A degree in Communication in Avignon then a two-year program in Editing in Toulouse brought me to Paris where I found various jobs in the cinema and television industry. After cirlcing around picture and its making for 25 years, I finally admitted it wasn’t enough, I wanted to create it myself. It was the moment when I decided I would concentrate on photography more seriously. I followed a three month program at the Gobelins School in Paris during 2011. While being there, I rediscovered how interesting working with film cameras was, whether it is small, medium or large format.
