RAVEN

Mystery, Myth and Meaning

About

Presented by Artists Anonymous

This exhibition came out of discussions that have been occurring over the past two years between five practicing artists who are based in the Central North of Tasmania. We affectionately call this group “AA” – the acronym is for Artists Anonymous.

As artists we have found that we share connections in relation to our basic beliefs in the deeper aspects of life and that our work, being an expression of this, could also be seen to represent these underlying belief structures. The raven has been a common point of discussion for us, and was the perfect subject as a central theme to our work. Allowing us to work with resonance of its meaning, associated myths and the raven’s always present mystery.
