Despard is proud to present Young Blood, a diverse exhibition that brings together emerging female artists; Zoe Grey, Maggie Jeffries and Micheila Petersfield.
This significant exhibition represents three recent graduates across painting and photography, demonstrating the creative vigour of our young Tasmanian artists. It also reflects the powerful momentum within the female artistic community, clearly captured within the diversity and energy of this exhibition.
Zoe Grey and Maggie Jeffries both translate the intimate experience and memory of place through paint, with unique approaches that feature landscapes and native plants of personal significance. Micheila Petersfield’s photographs centres on destabilising the ideals of female representation within popular media through awry digital reconstructions and self-portraiture.
Young Blood will be officially opened by leading Tasmanian researcher and University Lecturer, Dr Yvette Watt.
