Set in Swan Bay overlooking the iconic Tamar River just 20 minutes north of Launceston, The Tasmanian Circus Festival is a showcase of the best in independent contemporary circus performance, featuring local, national and international circus artists.
The public festival weekend (15 – 17 January 2016) is a family friendly, 3 day camping event that features a diverse range of circus performances held on the 3 purpose built stages, with the highlight being the outdoor main stage with stunning view over the Tamar River. The shows feature performances that include aerials, equilibristics, manipulation, dance, acrobatics, comedy and music.
The training week masterclasses (10 -14 January 2016), feature some of the leading contemporary circus industry trainers and performers teaching a broad range of circus skills to anyone with a basic physical theatre experience. The 5 day long intensive masterclasses week aims to bring 150 participants who are keen to broaden their circus skills, whilst camping together as one large circus community.
