Cello Napoletano – Hobart

Australian born, Italy-based cello virtuoso Catherine Jones joins Van Diemen’s Band to present a ravishing program of Neapolitan baroque music. Naples was home to some of Europe’s most daring and exotic musical minds, including featured composers Nicolo Fiorenza and Francesco Durante. Their music contributed to one of the most inventive and distinctive styles in 18th century musical history.

Catherine brings her talent, finesse and impeccable dexterity to the front and centre of this fiery, passionate repertoire.
