A night of original acoustic Tasmanian jazz compositions
Hobart based ensemble the ‘Harry Edwards Quartet’ will present two 45 minute sets of both new and old original compositions at Hobart music venue/cafe Yambu on May 12th.
Harry’s music draws on a range of influences, including gypsy jazz, modern jazz, classical music, and film scores. The ensemble began as a trio featuring Harry on lead guitar, Felicity Lovett on rhythm guitar, and Isaac Gee on double bass. The trio released their debut album of original work in 2015 to critical acclaim.
The group recently expanded to become a quartet, welcoming jazz violinist Charlie McCarthy. Charlie has over 20 years experience performing around Australia, and has toured Europe and the U.S.A. as a solist and section leader.
The quartet will be recording a new album in 2018. Come along and hear some of the new tunes being played live for the first time!
