Spanish guitar, poetry, and passion in Madrid during a time of turmoil.

Presented by Pete Hay and Paul Gerard

Featuring the thrilling sounds of Spanish guitar, with original music composed by Paul Gerard as an accompaniment to poetry by Pete Hay, one of Tasmania’s leading poets.

This show is a sequel to the very popular Evening in Andalusia, but this time the show revolves around a different suite of poems from Pete’s book, Girl Reading Lorca. The interwoven poetry and music celebrate the colour and passion of Madrid at a time of civil disobedience and intense protest. This is set against scenes from Spain’s long history and its proud cultural legacy.
