Blue Room: Sound Performances

Suze van der Beek

About

Suze van der Beek’s exhibition Blue Room is comprised of a small group of colour-field studies. The images are the result of Suze’s artist residency at Tasmania’s Narawntapu National Park.

As part of the exhibition, invited sound artists and musicians present three Saturday afternoon sound performances.

Free entry, all welcome.

4 – 5pm Sat 4 Aug
Emily Sheppard & Lucy Wilson: Violin & Cello

Emily and Lucy will weave their own compositions, improvisations and medieval arrangements of classical music into a meditative sonic experience.

3 – 4pm Sat 11 Aug
Joel Roberts: Guitar & Electronics

Joel is a Hobart based composer. Joel will work with recorded sounds and sampled live guitar in situ.

3 – 4pm Sat 18 Aug
Nigel Farley: Recorded & live sound

Through the manipulation of field recordings, Nigel Farley will respond to the artwork in a purely subjective and perceptual way, so that sonic equivalence may embody something of the immersive and meditative quality of the images.
