Panorama Brasil featuring Alda Rezende

Presented by Drink Tasmania and Matt Boden Music.

Following a sold-out season with Panorama Brasil and Vince Jones at the 2015 Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Alda Rezende has returned to Australia to join forces once more on a tour spanning NSW, Canberra, and Tasmania. The first Sixty Jazz Club of 2017 will set the tone of sun and summer with authentic Brazillian class and rythmic fervour.

Alda Rezende has become a household name in her country of birth, with a career spanning a mix of musical genres including jazz, bossa nova, samba, electronic music and pop. From working as an opera soloist to interpreting works by John Cage, from performing traditional samba in Brazil to the most avant-garde, Alda presents an intimate and powerful sensuality that is truly unique.

Panorama Brasil was formed by drummer/percussionist Alastair Kerr in 2012 to perform music from across Brazil, as well as Australian compositions influenced by Brazilian music. The recording of the 2013 Melbourne International Jazz Festival live performance of Kerr’s suite The Archer & the Dancer was released as the group’s debut album, and was nominated for a 2014 Bell Award. The group is well known for their programs dedicated to the work of great Brazilian composers and songwriters.
