The Bushwackers remain one of Australia’s most recognisable ensembles. There’s barely an Australian adult under 40 who didn’t learn ‘The Heel and Toe Polka’ to the bands track blaring through the speakers. A product of early ’70s jam sessions, the Bushwackers continue to deliver a zealous, gung-ho blend of rock and Australian folk music. Their iconic music, much of it based on the traditional working songs from the early 20th century, seamlessly incorporate Celtic instrumentals and great contemporary originals like Beneath The Southern Cross, Henry’s Men and I Am Australian.
