‘Colosseum’ by Ross Mueller

This is not once long ago, this is never again

About

Presented by O’Grady Drama On Cue Senior Youth

Directed by Chris Hamley

Colosseum is about young people searching for trust and identity, longing for direction and love, thinking they need a future but not sure what that future may hold.

Colosseum is about everyday people who are buffeted by place and person. Young people who are searching for trust and identity, needing faith in an ever faithless society, longing for direction and love, thinking they need a future but not sure what that future may hold.

A shonky importer salesman tied up in too many deals, a lawyer and a med student, a runaway homegirl, a couple of female mechanics students and their teacher, gossipy teenage school girls, and a cleaner who dreams of becoming a pop star. Between talk of engines and ecstasy, between fantasies of New York and the Virgin Mary, fifteen lives intersect as this multi-layered story explores life’s infinite possibilities.

Colosseum recognizes that there is blood and mud in all our lives but if we try a little harder, sometimes we can feel some sunlight on our skins.
