Counting up to Happiness

Beautiful short films telling Tasmanian stories about happiness.

About

Counting up to Happiness presents a diverse range of stories, counting up through the years of Kickstart Arts’ The Happiness Project in a screening that is a truly uplifting experience. We guarantee you’ll walk out smiling..

95 minutes of inspiring & quirky stories from all over the island about the happy things people do together, featuring the world premiere of 4 new films hot off the edit bench.

In 2016, leading professional Tasmanian film-makers Roger Scholes, Troy Melville, Richard Bladel and David Pyefinch worked with young people from diverse backgrounds to make films about their positive experiences and thoughts.

This was the latest episode in a project produced over 6 years in 8 Tasmanian communities, from Flinders Island to Dover, where 1572 Tasmanians told their stories with professional filmmakers to produce 63 short films about the true nature of happiness. These films have been screened to audiences of over 5,600 people, and counting..
