Deepspace is a new contemporary dance performance as part of Salamanca Moves combining movement sound and installation. In January 2016, James Batchelor and collaborator Annalise Rees were invited to be part of an interdisciplinary research team on the CSIRO Investigator, led by the Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies.
Deepspace is a project that has grown out of this unique opportunity to study some of the most remote places on Earth in the sub Antarctic.
Choreographer: James Batchelor
Performers: James Batchelor, Amber McCartney
Sound Design: Morgan Hickinbotham
Set Design: Annalise Rees
The performance will go for approximately 30 minutes. Afterwards, the audience will be invited to have a drink at the nearby Hobart Brewing Co, to meet the artists and discuss the work.
