Bilingual Theatre ‘Art-‘
A Disappearing Play
By ENE World
‘ART-’ is a comedy written by French playwright Yasmina Reza. The story is about a dermatologist named Serge, and his acquisition of a $200,000 painting — an entirely white oil painting with a few faint diagonal lines running through it. This white oil painting triggers an intense conflict between Serge and his friends Marc and Yvan whom he has known for many years.

ART-’s Director and Main Actor: Fini LIU
Fini LIU is a young Hobart community stage actor with a passion to explore theatre from within and restore the stage on stage. He started to develop a strong interest in movies during his undergraduate study. He then went on to pursue postgraduate studies in movie management at the University of Melbourne in 2015, and even had the opportunity to go on exchange to the University of Columbia in the U.S. for contemporary art. LIU gradually established his own artistic direction and style through exploring and gaining experience in many stages throughout Melbourne and New York. In 2020, he came to the University of Tasmania to further study performing arts, during which he also performed in a number of community theatres which were highly praised.
