In November 1843 the Olympic Theatre occupied the ground where Launceston’s Post Office now stands. We invite you to enter hidden spaces of the past, and follow the ghosts of Launceston’s earliest stars of the stage and their performing dogs.
This site-specific promenade through the heritage Launceston Post Office features renowned Tasmanian performers Colin James, Jane Johnson, Gerard Lane and Jane Longhurst.
Jane Woollard is an award-winning writer and director whose work explores the intersection of the past and the present in order to better understand our own times. Based on extensive archival research, Jane is working with a team of vibrant Tasmanian artists to create this irreverent and highly speculative vision of Launceston’s theatrical legacy.
