Ten Days invite you to Composers – A Sense of Place
The traditions of composing in response to place go back a long way. Only more recently has work been composed and then performed in many different contexts. There is a nuance to work which is responsive to a particular place that evokes a deep sense of belonging. TIAF has invited four of the composers participating in the festival to share their sense of how site directly informs their practice. Nick Haywood (Acoustic Life of Sheds) will host and participate in a conversation with Tim Humphrey (Acoustic Life of Sheds), Madeleine Flynn (Acoustic Life of Sheds) and Linsey Pollak (Calls Across the Island) in which they share their approach and method, their influences, passions and commitments.
