Our 2018 classical choral workshop will be the remarkable masterpiece of Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem, performed in the original language.
Considered by some as his greatest work, Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem is one of the most beloved of the great choral compositions. Inspired by the death of his mother, a loss that caused him much grief, this masterpiece speaks to us all about loss.
Back by popular demand, the conductor for the workshop and concert is David Lawrence, one of the UK’s most versatile conductors, working with orchestras, symphony choruses and national youth choirs. David is thrilled to be making his fifth visit to Festival of Voices, and is confident that both new and returning singers will enjoy the challenges of this choral masterpiece.
The performance outcomes will be on the afternoon of Saturday 14 July and at the Finale Concert on Sunday 15 July at 1.30pm. For more details, see attached schedule.
