Shortlist announcement of the 2015 Premier’s Literary Awards

About

Tasmania Book Prize longlisted booksThe Premier’s Literary Prizes are the Tasmanian State Government’s literary awards and celebrate the richness of the Tasmanian literary sector. They provide recognition for both established and emerging Tasmanian writers, as well as acknowledging the increasing influence Tasmania has on authors from elsewhere around Australia and the world.

Reading is one of the most important things we can do in life and books can take us on adventures we can’t begin to imagine.

On Friday, 11 September at 6:00 pm the shortlisted books and authors in the 2015 Premier’s Literary Prizes will be announced.

The judges this year had the unenviable task of assessing the entries and selecting firstly a longlist of works in the two book prizes, then a shortlist in all four prizes and finally a winner for each category.

The shortlisted books in the Premier’s Literary Prizes will offer a fascinating and diverse collection of very high calibre writing. They provide a great starting point to read Tasmanian stories or work written by Tasmanian authors.

Margaret Scott longlisted booksAfter the announcement has been made you will be able to find author profiles and extracts from all the shortlisted books and manuscripts on this website and vote for your favourites in the People’s Choice Awards.
