Who’s Reading Your Information?

About

An introduction to understanding Cyber Security issues that affect you.

We live in an Information Age where our personal, private and business information is held not just by us, but by many organisations. We provide our information without knowing where it will be stored or who will access it.

Securing your information is your responsibility. Threats abound that could affect your computer, phone or any device connected to the Internet. How can you protect your family, information, property and business whilst at work, at home, travelling and what about information in the Cloud?

This introductory workshop will help you understand those threats and focus on useful tips and practices for protecting yourself. We intend to run further workshops that focus on specific areas in more detail. How safe is your manuscript?

Presenter: Sue Kennedy (Chair Tasmanian Writers Centre).
Sue has extensive experience as an Information Security professional (5 years as Information Security Manager for a large WA University), plus decades of research and running courses in academia and in business. In Perth, Sue conducted Information Security workshops with a Federal Police Officer for parents at local schools. For these workshops, she will be supported by her Network Security Engineer husband.
